Young Friends of the Forest

We are proud to announce the launch of our new initiative for young supporters of Dragonfly Forest, called Young Friends of the Forest - a fantastic way for kids to get involved in helping other kids! The program is designed for middle school, high school and college age kids.

Already, we have Young Friends who are making a difference!

One Young Friend hosted a Sunday Dinner for her friends and family. The result is that a core group of girls from the Main Line area are now working to produce a student run fashion show to benefit Dragonfly Forest. The fashion show is under development for the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year. Look for more information coming soon.

A Pottstown school district representative met with the school superintendent who committed to introducing Dragonfly Forest to their middle and high school service organizations.

A Chester County school district representative has committed to introducing opportunities with Young Friends of the Forest to all middle and high schools in the District.

A Young Friend of the Forest "turned lemons into lemonade" by getting her friends and family to sponsor her time in detention to raise money for Dragonfly Forest. (Since she had quite a few detention hours, she was able to raise over $2,000!)

Another Young Friend of the Forest selected Dragonfly Forest as her Mitzvah project for her Bat Mitzvah. She was able to raise a campership ($2,000) to send a child to camp!

A local church named one Sunday Dragonfly Forest Day, and all collections from a special offering went to raise camperships to send kids to camp.

A successful fundraising event starts with a great idea… and we have lots of them ready to go! From the simplest to the boldest events, from collecting coins to a multi-day, Olympic-sized event… we have the tools that will get you started, and keep you going every step of the way! Contact us for information on one of our Young Friends of the Forest Fundraising Event Kits!
