FUNdraising Snapshot

For the past several years, Dragonfly has been blessed to have wonderful Friends who create and host incredible events to benefit The Forest. Event fundraising currently accounts for 55% of our annual operating budget, making it enormously important to us. Obviously, we cherish our now 'traditional' events and we welcome, encourage, cheer on, and hope that new Friends will add to our support by championing new events. Here are highlights of our 2007 fundraisers.

CAMPtail PARTY
A huge thank you to Anne and Matt Hamilton who hosted our CAMPtail Party 2007 at their beautiful home. Guests, wearing their finest camp attire, entered the festivities through a welcoming arch of balloons and convened on the lawn for cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and games, lots of games!

'Sumo-wrestling', relay races (on a Velcro track), spin art, and pit crew competitions led to some pretty ridiculous situations and lots of laughter! A live auction emceed by guest John DiBella contributed greatly to the success of the evening. And the news just gets better and better! Anne and Matt are going to do it all over again for us on June 6, 2008. Plan to join us for what is Dragonfly's premier fundraising event.

THE SATURDAY CLUB
If you have a little girl in your life, then you surely know what the American Girl Dolls are. Recognizing the powerful pull of the dolls, Wayne's The Saturday Club began a fashion show with the girls and their dolls wearing identical outfits. The fashion show has become the most successful of its kind in the country. Dragonfly Forest was lucky enough to be chosen by The Saturday Club to be the 2007 beneficiary of the very significant proceeds. Thank you to all of the members of The Saturday Club for honoring Dragonfly with the proceeds from your Herculean effort.

And The Saturday Club chose us again for their 2008 show! The six shows have sold out each year, so mark your calendar for March 7-9, 2008 and get your tickets early!

DRAGONFLY CUP
On Monday, April 30th, a full field turned out for the third annual Dragonfly Cup. It was a wonderful afternoon of great people, great golf, and beautiful weather at The Concord Country Club. Thank you to John Colburn for going 'above and beyond' putting it all together once again. Of course, it was a rousing success.

The Dragonfly Cup 2008 will move to the historic St. David's Golf Club, with a new leader, Doug Shroer. Thank you Doug for stepping up for Dragonfly. The date of the Cup is Monday, April 28. Golfers, mark it down!

CRAIG DRAKE JEWELERS
Who knew that such a large amount of money could be raised so quickly? Thanks to Craiger Drake and the friends and staff of Craig Drake Mfg., Inc., Dragonfly Forest was the very lucky non-profit asked to be the beneficiary of the funds raised at their annual holiday dinner. As far as Dragonfly is concerned, it was the best dinner ever! Thank you!

HAMPSHIRE FAMILY FUND
Believe it or not, Jean Friend was surfing the net last year looking for an organization to be their family's beneficiary of their annual gift. She found us, liked what she saw, presented it to the extended family for a vote, and we won!

Ten years ago, this wonderful family (now standing at forty two voting members) decided that instead of buying gift upon gift for each other every year, to donate that money and other monies raised in fundraisers throughout the year, to a non-profit that they found worthy. Thank you Hampshire Family for finding Dragonfly!

Tredyffrin-Easttown Middle School
These enterprising middle schoolers decided that they wanted to send a child to Dragonfly Forest this past summer. So they set about planning how to achieve their goal and achieve it they did! Thank you Tredyffrin-Easttown Middle School!
