Dragonfly Golf
Monday, September 12,
2005 was the date of our
inaugural golf classic,
The Dragonfly Cup. We
had fabulous weather at
Gulph Mills Golf Club,
creating a spectacular
setting for our players
and sponsors. The
event’s success was
derived from the
generosity of our key

We received enthusiastic
feedback for our format:
two partners on a team
playing six holes of
scramble, six holes or
best ball of partners
and six holes of
aggregate play.
The day culminated in a
four team playoff. On
the first playoff hole a
true miracle occurred as
the team of Doug Schroer/
Jerry Halterman of USI
and the team of Jeff
Abbott/ John Colburn
each chipped in the hole
from 50 feet to secure
1st and 2nd place.
Schroer/Halterman took
first prize with two
wonderful approach shots
on 18. The teams of
Chris Dallas-Feeny and
Hal Marinaro came in
3rd, Nick Sandor and Dan
Taylor were 4th as they
came up the 18th fairway
to a cheering crowd.
The reigning finalists:
5th - Chad Stowe & Mark
O’Neill
6th - Hank Grabowski &
Simon Edwards
7th - Dave Roy & Steve
Potash
8th - Dennis McGee &
Royer Schwartz
9th - Hudson Voltz &
Jeff Wadkins
10th - Harlan Slack &
James Hanna
Doug Schroer had closest
to the pin on hole #14
and Longest Drive on
hole #7, Jeff Abbott a
had a 2 feet 3 inch
closest to the pin on
hole #4, and Phil Remig
won longest Drive on
hole # 12.
Gulph Mills was a great
venue for the event,
expressing its history,
course design and
classic clubhouse. The
food and service were at
the top. Thank you Gulph
Mills Golf Club!
Dragonfly Forest is so
very thankful to all of
the participants in the
event. We now have a
great base of friends to
make next year’s golf
outing even larger and
more impressive. Please
anticipate some
information in late
winter for our 2006
Dragonfly Cup to be held
in the Spring. We are
thinking that longer
daylight hours, early
season golf enthusiasm,
and no back-to- school
challenges will open the
field to many more
friends.
Thank you all for a
great day.
