As
we get ready with great
excitement for the 2009
Dragonfly Forest camp
season, we also are
carefully watching the
recent news about the
H1N1 (swine) flu. We
know that the kids who
come to Dragonfly Forest
can be adversely
impacted if they were to
catch the H1N1 flue. We
wanted provide you with
an update about how this
could potentially affect
our camp season and
precautions we are
taking to protect your
children.
First, it’s important
to note that it is
impossible to know how
this flu will progress.
We are monitoring it
closely and we suggest
you visit the CDC web
site for accurate
updates (www.cdc.gov).
At
this point, camp season
will begin as usual. We
are carefully monitoring
our staff for the flu.
If you camper is
experience any of the
following, please
contact camp
(610-298-1820)
immediately and prepare
your camper that they
will not be able to come
to camp.
-
Acute vomiting
and/or diarrhea
-
Undiagnosed fever
now or within the
last 7 days
-
Sore throat, cough
or feel generally
ill
In
addition, we will be
working with our camp
doctors and nurses to
institute the most
stringent hand-washing
and hygiene procedures,
and preparing ourselves
so we can quickly
identify cases and
isolate the affected
person. This is a key to
keeping the flu from
spreading.
We
want you to know that we
are following the course
of the H1N1 flu closely,
preparing our camp for a
healthy summer, and
keeping you up to date
if anything occurs that
could affect our camp
season.
