Ambassador- Summer Camp

Pay Range:                      Baseline $175/week

Basic Assignment

Build relationships with community members, potential and current donors, and camp volunteers through community outreach, public recognition and gratitude programming, and special event planning. Provide excellent customer service to all clients, know and enforce rules and safety measures, care for all equipment and facilities, and work well as a member of the Dragonfly Forest camp community.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Outreach experience preferred

  • Resident camp experience preferred

  • Experience or aptitude to work closely with adults and children in a positive, engaging manner

  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation

  • Ability to adequately represent the mission and facets of Dragonfly Forest, both verbally and in writing

  • Know and understand safety regulations and operating procedures of specific program area

  • Ability to safely and effectively enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies and procedures

 

Major Functions

  • Facilitate informational meetings with community members in an effort to promote Dragonfly Forest’s summer camp program

  • Plan and facilitate promotional events during the summer program for community members and potential donors

  • Assist with fundraising efforts as assigned, including (but not limited to) grant proposal submissions, mailing campaigns, and social media campaigns

  • Assist with social media updates as assigned, including parent updates and photo sharing

  • Use good judgement and make conservative decisions to ensure the safety of our campers and staff

  • Employ leadership techniques and demonstrate excellent customer service and work ethic as covered in staff training

  • Follow all rules, operating procedures, instructions, and policies, and know and implement all emergency procedures when necessary

  • Provide exemplary role modeling at all times when participants are at camp, and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership over camp, including cleaning of facilities and care of equipment

  • Follow specific directives Camp Directors and Executive Directors as assigned.  Communicate all work-related issues through Camp Directors.
